Nourra (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

Information We Collect

  • Account information — name and email address provided through Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
  • Health profile data — information you provide during onboarding such as age, sex, dietary preferences, and health goals. This data is used to personalize your experience.
  • Food photos — images of meals you scan using the app. These images are processed by a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to identify foods and assess nutritional content. Photos are transmitted securely and are not stored by the AI provider beyond the processing request.
  • Usage data — information collected automatically such as device type, app version, and interaction patterns to help us improve the Services.
  • Subscription data — purchase and subscription status managed through Apple’s App Store and RevenueCat. We do not process or store payment card information.

AI Processing

Nourra uses artificial intelligence to analyze food photos and generate nutrition insights. When you scan a meal, your photo is sent to OpenAI’s API for processing. OpenAI processes this data according to their API data usage policies and does not use API inputs to train their models. We only send the minimum data necessary for food analysis.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers — including OpenAI (food analysis), Clerk (authentication), and RevenueCat (subscription management), who process data on our behalf.
  • Legal compliance — when required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Safety and rights — to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Services.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app’s settings. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Your Privacy Rights

Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
